Why I Built Renter Hive
My name is Terrence Edwards. Before I was a founder, I was a U.S. Army soldier. In the military, leaving things better than you found them isn't just a saying — it's a standard.
When I moved to Los Angeles, I realized that for renters, that standard is almost impossible to keep. We want to make our apartments feel like homes — we want the smart dimmers, the custom wallpaper, and the gallery walls — but we live in constant fear of that security deposit conversation at the end of the lease.
On the other side, I saw local pros — the real craftsmen of LA — getting squeezed by big tech platforms that took massive commissions and sold the same lead to five different people.
I built Renter Hive to be the bridge.
