The Founder's Story
Renter Hive was founded by Terrence Edwards — a renter, a father, and someone who got tired of watching people settle for boring apartments because they were afraid of losing their deposit.
“I kept hearing the same thing from friends and family: 'I wish I could do more with my place, but I don't want to risk my deposit.' And when they did try to find help, they'd end up on Yelp or Thumbtack scrolling past contractors who only knew how to drill holes and pour concrete. Nobody was filtering for renter-safe services.”
That frustration became the blueprint for Renter Hive — a curated directory where every provider specializes in non-permanent, removable upgrades. Peel-and-stick wallpaper, furniture assembly, smart home setup, lighting, organization — services designed for how renters actually live.
Built in Los Angeles and serving 25 neighborhoods across the city, Renter Hive is on a mission to prove that renting doesn't mean settling. Orange County expansion is coming soon.
